Design management and site delivery of a 40-level tower with a 4.5-level basement — incorporating contiguous pile walls, steel props, shotcrete and large diameter piles through hard rock.
Ruby Ruby is a 40-level mixed-use residential tower in Milton, Brisbane, incorporating a 4.5-level basement within a constrained inner-city site. The basement retention system comprised contiguous pile walls, steel props and shotcrete facing, with large diameter piles driven through hard rock to support the tower structure above.
Maple Consults led the design management of the basement solution and took a leading role in site delivery — coordinating the retention system, foundation installation and excavation sequencing through technically challenging ground conditions. The constrained site and hard rock profile required careful management of construction methodology, programme and design interfaces throughout the basement and early works phases.
